The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) is the national oil refining company of Kuwait. Established in October 1960, KNPC handles the responsibility of oil refining, gas liquefaction, and distribution of petroleum goods within the local market. Established in October 1960 as a share-holding company owned by the Kuwait government and private sector, KNPC became fully government-owned in 1975. Since 1968 the company had been exporting petroleum products from its Shuaiba Refinery.

In 1980, following the restructuring of the oil sector in Kuwait, KNPC was placed under the newly created Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), which was also government owned. Under this position, KNPC took control of distributing petroleum products within Kuwait, along with the ownership of the Mina Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah refineries.

1. MANUFACTURING EXECELLENCE ENGINEER
Academic : Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

Related Work Experience:

• 6 years direct working experience in the petroleum refining industry, including exposure to petroleum economics, planning and scheduling.
• Knowledge of refinery process units basic functions and their internal streams integration along with oil movements system and Inter Refinery Transfer Systems across KNPC.

Qualification :

• High Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Good understanding of refinery processes and economics.
• Good knowledge of petroleum product pricing KPIs and Balance Scorecard.
• Knowledge of refinery processes especially for KNPC refineries (integration, limitation & capabilities).
• Good experience in the use of Mass Reconciliation Packages (Aspen, ADVISOR, etc).

2. INSPECTION ENGINEER
Academic: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering

Related Work Experience: 6 years experience plant inspection in a refinery or petrochemical industries, preferably with high pressure/temperature system.

Job Summaryies :

• Inspect fire/unfired pressure equipment in refinery, including steam producing equipment, oil heaters, columns, vessels, heat exchangers, piping sytems and storage tanks, reactors, marine and harbor facilities. Calculates permissible working pressure of equipment and reports findings.
• Prepares inspection work-list for plant turnarounds and coordinates these functions with concerned refinery departments, Projects department and Contractors’ representatives. Inspects critical equipment at supplier’s work as directed.
