MICC - Engineer (Cepu)
JOB FUNCTION:
The Instrument & Controls (MICC) Engineer - FF works in close cooperation with the I&C Electrical Engineer Specialist to help oversee all phases of instrumentation and controls engineering elements of the Project. This position ensures that the Project’s requirements, as detailed in the technical specifications, for all instrument engineering are carried out in a professional and timely fashion. The engineer assists in the stewardship of all instrumentation engineering aspects of the Project with other discipline leads on the PMT, as necessary. The position interfaces among the BU Project Team disciplines, MICC organization, and the EPC contractor’s organization with respect to instrumentation to ensure quality and minimize change orders. For instrument related activities, the position helps to oversee the work of the Main Instrumentation and Controls Contractor (MICC) Project Manager and organization which is subcontracted to the EPC.
RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES:
• Assists in providing overall instrumentation engineering technical leadership and expertise
• Assists in overseeing the MICC and EPC contractor’s activities with respect to instrumentation including:
- Detail instrumentation engineering
- Development of instrumentation logic and loop diagrams
- Development and design of the I&C system
- Development of the schedule, recommended deliverables, and cost estimates for instrumentation
- Measurement and reporting of physical progress
- Selection, specification, and inspection of instrumentation components
- Procurement of tagged items including preparation of specifications, bid evaluations, bid tabulations, bid recommendations, etc.
- Ensuring INtools requirements clearly defined with a format/structure that meets Operations, MICC and EPC needs
• Review, evaluate, and advise EPC contractor with respect to:
- Instrument specifications, logic and loop diagrams
- Compliance with design methods and safety factors to be used in design of project.
- Design correctness, compliance, and operability
- Operability of the unit or plant for start-up, normal, turndown, and shutdown modes. Reviews or sets design basis for abnormal operating conditions
- Technical bid tabulations for instruments and instrumentation systems
- Contractor’s technical evaluations for purchase orders and award recommendations for contractor supplied equipment
- Ensuring that Contractor complies with all standards, specifications and drawings specified in the Contract
• Participate in I&C technical specification preparation and Hazard and Operability Reviews (HAZOP)
• Participate in packaged equipment related FAT’s (eg. Metering packages, etc.) as required
• Provide support to site construction and completions Teams
• Provide support to operations during startup
• Manage instrumentation related lessons learned for the project
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES :
• Knowledge of industry and ExxonMobil:
- Instrumentation engineering principles, theories, and concepts
- Applicable codes, standards, and trade practices
• Knowledge and experience in the selection and application of instrumentation hardware
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• 5+ years of closely related professional engineering experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Lotus Notes, Smart Plant Instrumentation (INtools), etc.
• Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical communications
• Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
Mechanical Completions Coordinator (Cepu)
Job Function:
Responsible to the SCL for interacting with Company and Contractor construction teams to ensure that all systems are mechanically complete prior to Hand Over to the SC Team. Has lead responsibility for (MC) planning, preparation, verification, and documentation of "A" Check Sheets, Punch Lists, as-builts, etc
• Interface with Contractor Technical Supervisors and Vendor Representatives to understand the ongoing work and ensure a safe and environmentally sound job area.
• Interface with Company Safety Advisor and Contractor Safety Officers to ensure a safe and environmentally sound job area.
• Interface with Industry Technical Experts to assist in solving mechanical completion problems incurred during the project.
• Interface with Commissioning Lead to ensure alignment between construction and commissioning requirements.
• Interface with Systems Completions Coordinator in seeking assistance for solving problems.
• Achieve a flawless hand over of a mechanically complete facility from Construction to Commissioning.
• Achieve an accident and incident free performance during the work effort leading to hand over.
• Achieve a flawless first oil event.
Required Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, And Experiences:
• An engineering degree with 5 - 10 years direct "hands on" experience in construction and / or systems completion in oil and gas processing is required.
• Exposure to drilling and downhole operations would be beneficial.
• High safety awareness is mandatory. A good knowledge of simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) is essential.
• WinPCS or similar Systems Completion electronic database management system experience.
• Requires an outstanding ability to interact with customers with diverse backgrounds. Must be an excellent facilitator and must exhibit mature judgement in conjunction with sound and analytical reasoning.
• Requires ability to perform well during periods of adversity.
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills. Requires the ability to build consensus in areas of contention while enhancing working relationships.
• Plant/system mechanical completion and commissioning experience is mandatory.
• Willing to live and work in fabrication facility, construction camp, and offshore environment.
